Because Fox Searchlight is all about making “little” “meaningful” “pictures” that they know won’t make money but will bring critical praise and possible Oscar consideration. Though it would be hard to imagine any presenter at the Oscars saying, “And the Best Picture goes to Frontin!” Because it’s a drama it seems like it will take a Crash direction.

Not to shabby. This is sort of like a hip Magnolia. There have been movies before about losing oneself amidst temptation of achieving fame and fortune like All About Eve. The challenge will be to bring that into today’s cornucopia of celebrity possibility.

Yes. With TV, Movies, Internet, Web sites, I-Pod, Pod-cast, etc. as potential avenues of notoriety and 15 minutes of fame the idea of losing who you really are to get what you think you want is pretty relevant in today’s world.

Possibly the 13-25 crowd will go if the “actors” in the movie lure them there. They may unintentionally see a “serious” movie.

This movie seems like it really wants to say something. Put it in the hands of an experienced director who can handle a big cast yet take on the theme of this movie.
