FRONTIN’

A tour through the young Hollywood scene follows an ensemble cast from all walks of life who are “frontin’” - pretending to be something they are not in order to achieve fame and glory.

GENRE

Drama

WHY DID THE STUDIO BUY THIS?

Because Fox Searchlight is all about making “little” “meaningful” “pictures” that they know won’t make money but will bring critical praise and possible Oscar consideration. Though it would be hard to imagine any presenter at the Oscars saying, “And the Best Picture goes to Frontin!” Because it’s a drama it seems like it will take a Crash direction.

ACTOR(S) THAT WILL PROBABLY STAR IN THIS ONE

A collection of today’s 20-30 talent from a variety of genres: movies, TV and music.  Mos Def, Pink, some kids from Laguna Beach, Taye Diggs, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and people like that. Basically, the American Pie kids all grown up in a parallel universe.

HOW EXCITING OF AN IDEA IS THIS?

Not to shabby. This is sort of like a hip Magnolia. There have been movies before about losing oneself amidst temptation of achieving fame and fortune like All About Eve. The challenge will be to bring that into today’s cornucopia of celebrity possibility.

DOES THIS STORY NEED TO BE TOLD?

Yes. With TV, Movies, Internet, Web sites, I-Pod, Pod-cast, etc. as potential avenues of notoriety and 15 minutes of fame the idea of losing who you really are to get what you think you want is pretty relevant in today’s world.

MOVIES THIS IS LIKE

Magnolia

All About Eve

WHO WOULD GO SEE THIS?

Crash

A Face in the Crowd

The 25 - 45 year old crowd who ponder the philosophy of staying true to yourself. Those interested in contemplating life.

Possibly the 13-25 crowd will go if the “actors” in the movie lure them there. They may unintentionally see a “serious” movie.

CONSIDER IN THE DECISION

This movie seems like it really wants to say something. Put it in the hands of an experienced director who can handle a big cast yet take on the theme of this movie.

AND THE PRO-GOOD MOVIE CHOICE IS....

GOD 3

MOVIE LIFE GRANTED
